INK ILLUSTRATION WORKSHOP: The Fundamental Concepts & Techniques

It is a pleasure to introduce to you my upcoming 4-days Online Workshop: Ink Illustration | Fundamental Concepts & Techniques that will be started from July 15, 2023, all levels welcome. This workshop will be held online over Zoom, weekend only (Saturday and Sunday), 2 hours per session.

In this workshop, we will discuss about basic concepts of illustration such as sketching techniques, constructive drawing, object form analysis, shading and ink drawing. Detailed workshop schedule and outline will be mentioned below.

WORKSHOP OUTLINE

  • Sketching Techniques

We will discuss about some foundational sketching techniques such as hand movement, strokes and lines control.

  • Subject Form Analysis

By analysing the form, we will understand the surface of the subject in depth. This method helps us define the 3-dimensional structure of the object which is useful in shading and ink drawing techniques.

  • Basic Shading Techniques

Discussing the fundamental shading concepts, we will learn how to express the 3-dimensional structure of the subject with tonal value and shading elements such as highlight, core shadow, reflected light,…

  • Ink Techniques

When we have the sketching and the overall shading, we can start to apply the ink drawing. There are different techniques that we can use, from the simple strokes to broken/dashed lines. In addition, we can change the line thickness and spacing to depict the tonal value to express the subject structure. Hatching/Cross-hatching drawing methods will be discussed in depth.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE (Date & Time)

  • This 4-days workshop will be held only on Saturday and Sunday in 2 weeks:

Week 1: July 15 & 16, 2023
Week 2: July 22 & 23, 2023

  • Time: 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM (EDT) | Toronto, ON, Canada Time Zone
  • Learning Platform: Zoom
  • Recording & Review: All the lessons will be recorded and can be reviewed within 30 days.

Process of Registration and Payment (Important)

There are some steps to follow for the registration and payment:

  • Check the workshop schedule (date and time) carefully before register.
  • Registration form: Click the registration link, fill in the form and submit to sign up for the workshop: https://trishiba.typeform.com/to/aGicj0Az
  • Confirmation Email and Payment: After the registration submission, you will receive a registration confirmation email from Tri Le within 48 hours. You only need to make the payment after receiving the confirmation email. Payment link will be attached in the mail.
  • Registration complete: After making the payment, you will receive an email from Tri Le with the detailed information of the workshop, guidebook/manual, zoom link and more. Your registration is completed.
  • Cancellation policy: If your schedule is changed and you cannot join the course, you can cancel the registration 03 days before the workshop, your payment will be refunded.
  • Workshop link: Zoom link, ID, and Passcode will be sent to your email 24 – 48 hours before the workshop starts.
