I have gotten a great value out of this manual. The lessons are detailed and gradual, and Shiba really goes into all of the elements one needs to create beautiful illuminated initials. Although the “book” itself is not a masterpiece, the showcased craftsmanship and the lessons have been extremely valuable for me. I appreciate that it is available online as a .pdf file and for a low price. This, in my opinion, is a must-do course I would recommend to those who would like to master calligraphy and learn at a high level. I am looking forward to trying out the other manuals as well!

This book for me should be a historical treasure and should Tri make a printed version of this book, I will 100% buy it.
I wanted to practive decorative lettering and struggling to actually find a decent book for a beginner to start. It’s almost impossible to find a straight forward, clear step-by-step book like this for decorative lettering.
This book covers everything you need to start, with easy step-by-step tutorial to follow. I recommend this book with all my heart, for those who would like to start learning decorative lettering or miniatures.
